Le Hai Yen — The Vision Behind ¥ La Perla™
The story of ¥ La Perla™ began with its founder, Le Hai Yen, a Vietnamese designer whose love for pearls first blossomed during her studies in Japan in 2018. To mark that transformative chapter of her life, she chose the Yen symbol (¥) — a nod to her time in Japan and also the first letter of her own name — as the emblem of her brand. And so, ¥ La Perla™ (¥LP) was born.

Driven by curiosity and passion, Yen immersed herself in the world of pearls, exploring their many varieties and crafting her very first designs. She quickly became recognized as one of the pioneers in Vietnam to create pearl jewelry that is unique, expressive, and deeply personal. Each design reflects not only the individuality of its wearer but also the creative spirit of the brand.

Yen seeks to transform the common perception of pearls as exclusive and expensive jewelry. Thanks to the advancement of the pearl farming industry, pearls today are more affordable and come in a wide variety of shapes and youthful, trendy colors. With this diversity, pearl jewelry is no longer confined to tradition but has become a versatile accessory — suitable for all genders, all backgrounds, and all ages.
With that belief, Yen made the bold decision to return to Vietnam to start her entrepreneurial journey in 2020. Vietnam, renowned for its freshwater pearl farming, offered her both inspiration and a foundation to build a brand dedicated to celebrating women’s beauty.

Over the past five years in this craft, I’ve welcomed countless international visitors who came to Vietnam and instantly fell in love with pearls. Many told me how pearls are often far more expensive abroad, while here in Vietnam the prices are more stable thanks to our strong pearl farming industry and steady supply.
For me, my mission has always been to make pearls accessible — something people can wear every day without worrying about the cost. And then I thought, why not share this beyond Vietnam, so even more people can experience it?
That’s why I decided to open this store.
